I am a Visiting Assistant Professor and a researcher in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Emory University.

My research focuses on language variation and change, sociolinguistics, and phonetics, with a particular emphasis on the social and cognitive aspects of language as they pertain to gender, sexuality, and other marginalized groups.

Beyond my academic work, I am an avid iced coffee enthusiast and enjoy spending time with my mischievous dachshund, Charlie.

Language is the road map of a culture. It tells you where its people come from and where they are going. — Rita Mae Brown
